Private America consisted of 12 video monitors arranged in a circle with benches. Each monitor acted both as an illuminating device, lighting 12 different Ektachromes, which were attached in front of it and a video monitor, displaying moving action of found footage of an air battle during the Vietnam War. Thus the work superimposed a moving image into a still one.
